Save the Date: Future Conference - Wind & Maritime, Rostock 31st May - 1st June 2012
Wind energy and marine technology meet in Rostock
Wind energy will have a major role in the future energy mix. Further potentials will be unlocked regarding onshore sites and huge offshore wind farms will be developed. The sector is booming and, within the course of the energy change, searching for partners and synergies. Installing and maintaining offshore wind farms requires maritime knowledge, products and services from the maritime sector which are offered by the shipping industry, harbours and ship technology companies. The joint future conference “Wind & Maritime 2012” brings stakeholders of the wind energy and the maritime technology sector together in Rostock and provides information on current topics in lectures, workshops and network events.
The event is organized by the Wind Energy Network e. V. with the maritime publishing house HANSA as cooperation partner.

After the solemn opening by the state government, parallel workshops on the topics Onshore wind, Offshore wind and Maritime technology will be held on 31 May 2012 the whole day through. Industry experts will discuss on current technical, logistical and commercial issues with an interdisciplinary approach. Interested companies will present their services in an accompanying exhibition. An evening reception will round off this first conference day and provide an opportunity for personal exchange and networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
Insights into the maritime technology topics of the future, Ocean Energies, Arctic and marine mining, will be given, amongst others, on the HANSA Forum Offshore during the conference on 1 June 2012. The HANSA Forum Offshore, implemented once again in cooperation with the expert committee Maritime Technology of the Society for Maritime Technology (STG), was a resounding success already in 2011. Thus, the conference offers experts from the wind energy sector, maritime technology scientist, industry representatives and service providers a unique platform for interdisciplinary experience exchange.
Information on program, venue and registration will be provided in mid-March (www.wind-maritim.de) and in the coming HANSA issues. For members of the organizing and supporting institutions we offer special conditions.
