Nordex AG is one of the pioneers of the wind industry. Since 1985 the company has been developing high-tech solutions for obtaining low-cost electricity from wind energy. Apart from the manufacture of wind turbines, the range of products and services offered also includes the planning and turnkey erection of complete wind farms as well as service and maintenance.

The Nordex Group markets one of the most extensive product lines in the world for the power class in excess of two megawatts. It has already put over 1,000 turbines of this type (2.3/2.5 megawatts) on grid. Overall, today more than 4,000 Nordex turbines are in operation around the globe, with a total output of some 5,500 MW.

Nordex has offices and subsidiaries in 18 countries and employs a workforce of around 2,200. The European production centre is located in Germany (Rostock). With further production facilities in China and soon in North America, the Group is meeting the increasing demand in precisely these markets.

In fiscal 2008 it increased its revenues to EUR 1.136 billion (previous year: EUR 747 million), representing growth of more than 50 percent for the fourth year in succession.
