Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is one of the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers. Siemens also offers integrated solutions and services that meet the demands of the entire energy conversion chain.
The company has been successfully implementing projects, both large and small, onshore and offshore, for three decades. With its efficient, robust and reliable wind turbines, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy offers an innovative solution for almost every application. Worldwide, Siemens has installed approximately 12,300 turbines with a total capacity of nearly 20,000 MW. In Germany alone, more than 1,400 Siemens wind turbines are in operation with a rated power of over 1,500 MW.
Most recently, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has specialized in the development of direct drive technology. 2010 saw the launch of the SWT-3.0-101, a 3MW gearless wind turbine designed for high wind conditions. With the introduction of the SWT-3.0-113 in 2012, Siemens now offers a technology platform featuring a large rotor, ideal for medium and moderate wind conditions. At the end of 2011, Siemens set the standard for offshore direct drive technology with its 6.0 MW turbine.
Since October 2011 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is now steering its worldwide operations from Hamburg. Working alongside the Headquarters in Hamburg is parts of European Sales. In addition Siemens Service (wind turbines maintenance) Headquarters for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) is also located in Hamburg.
